I went wedding dress shopping last weekend with my mom, sister, future mother-in-law and sister-in-law. We went to Ready or Knot and Rhylan Lang in Omaha, Nebraska. Both stores were beautiful and the customer service was next level. My goal was to be at a low stress level so I could cherish such a wonderful day with the gals I love dearly.
I will be honest though, the pressure of finding "the dress" was on my mind a bit. There were so many gorgeous dresses to choose between. I am still swooning. Here are few tips that made my experience wonderful.
1. Try Different Styles : Although you may have an idea of the dress you want, take a look at all your options. For instance, I am drawn to the classical ballgown dress, but I tried on form fitting dresses just to make sure of my style choice. Also, it is just plain fun to see different silhouettes.
2. BYOC: Bring Your Own Champagne! A bottle of bubbly makes the day feel extra special and puts everyone in an instant good mood. The stress of running late melted away after popping the cork and quick cheers. Many stores will courtesy a bottle once you have chosen a dress. However, it is a nice way to enjoy the process before the commitment. Make sure to call ahead and clear it with the store first, Ready or Knot just asked that the champs be clear to protect the dresses.
3. Trust the Professionals: I was fortunate enough to have the owners of both stores assist me and I am beyond grateful. They are the experts so do not be afraid to let them steer you through the process. Be prepared to articulate what you do not like or what you would change about a dress; it's okay! This allows them to better understand what you are looking for in your dress.
Thanks again to the wonderful women of Ready or Knot and Rhylan Lang!
