Yes, I'm engaged! It happened two days before Christmas. Ambrose had planned for a tour of our milestone places in Omaha then a romantic dinner. However, true to from, I was running late. Ambrose calmly rearranged the night, patience is a virtue. We went to dinner at V.Mertz in the charming Old Market passageway then began the tour.
A few of my favorite stops were Creighton University with all the Christmas lights, Ted & Wally's ice cream shop where we had our first date, and the bus stop. You might say "wait, really romantic, the bus stop?". Yes, because it marked one of the most difficult parts of dating long distance for years and traveling ten hours every other weekend to see each other during law school and medical school. It was challenging but ultimately, it created a stronger bond between us.
He proposed in the middle of hundreds of trees wrapped with twinkling lights, across from where we hope to be married. I will remember it forever.
In the spirit of keeping it real, Ambrose did attempt to capture the moment. However, his nerves got the best of him and he accidentally did not press the record button on his phone! We laughed about it, C'est La Vie! Celebration followed afterward with champagne at our favorite little spot, La Buvette, in the old market.
