During a recent trip to the Anthropologie home section in Portland, I saw the cutest cylinder glass terrariums lined up on the coffee table and immediately wanted to recreate them for our apartment. It kind of feels like cheating when I call this a DIY but technically you have to do some things yourself :)
Super straight forward, all you need are your succulents and cacti, glass jars/vases (I found mine at Hobby Lobby), and pretty stones to layer on the top. From there you simply lay down the soil, bury the plant, top it off with pebbles, and you're done!
A tip for handling the cacti, use kitchen tongs like Abby recommended in her cactus post (found here!) or fold up a piece of aluminum foil and you're good to grab! Also, for the sake of the cacti/succulents, you should probably add a layer of rocks at the bottom of the vase but I had forgotten to buy some dark colored ones so we will see how long they last... I'll have to be extra light on the watering :) What are your favorite ways of adding some greenery indoors?
