Considering how small of island Aruba is, there are actually quite a few fun activities to do. Aside from stalking flamingos at the hotel (see the hotel and food post here!) we decided to spend three more active days away from downtown: 1) full day excursion around the island via ABC tours, 2) a half day on a catamaran, snorkeling and drinking champagne, 3) eating, swimming, and drinking on Eagle Beach.
The full day (9 hours!) tour of Aruba via ABC Tours was probably my favorite part of the vacation. You saw the entire island, from the historic churches, to the natural bridges and caves, snorkeling with fish at multiple beaches (Baby Beach was my favorite), off-roading in 4x4s the whole way, and ending in a natural pool (the last photo). The full day excursion was a perfect way to really see the whole island, I would highly recommend it!
Catamaran Snorkeling Cruise
The half day catamaran via Pelican Adventures was a very close second for my favorite part of the trip: snorkeling at three sites (including a sunken German ship, so cool!!), drinking champagne, and laying in the sun= a recipe for perfection. The waters in Aruba are absolutely stunning, we even saw a family of squid!
Okay so Eagle Beach isn't really an activity per se but it was such a relaxing day. We first ate breakfast at Diana's Pancake House, then walked over to the beach and just read, swam, ate, and drank the day away. There are dozens of beautiful beaches in Aruba but Eagle Beach is definitely at the top of the list for the most beautiful. If you head to the far South end, you can easily grab an umbrella (pictured) and a whole area to yourself. What are your favorite vacays??
